Due to the general pandemic, tablets are having a moment. The tablet market is expanding for the first time since 2014. As more people work from home or stay at home more regularly, Nokia expects the use of tablets for work and entertainment to grow. Nokia’s parent company, HMD Global, introduced the Nokia T20 Tablet recently. It’s an entry-level Android tablet that starts at $250. Beyond its pricing, there’s a lot to admire about the T20. It has a 10.4-inch 2K display and a large battery that Nokia claims would last for 7 hours of video calls. For video discussions, it has a front-facing 5MP camera, two microphones, and stereo speakers. An 8MP camera is located on the rear of the mid-size tablet. Starting with Android 11, Nokia guarantees two years of Android OS updates. You’ll also get three years of security updates every month. Here’s a quick rundown of the tablet’s main features and 3 years’ promised update.

Main Features of Nokia T20 tablet

Let’s start with the specifications. The SoC is a Unisoc Tiger T610, a 12 nm processor with two A75 cores running at 1.8 GHz and six A55 cores running at 1.8 GHz (a Unisoc SoC is an unusual component). This is an entry-level CPU because the primary A75 cores are somewhat ancient and were last seen in major flagships with the Snapdragon 845 in 2017. There’s 4GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and an 8200 mAh battery on board. The screen is a 10.4-inch LCD with a resolution of 20001200 with a “toughened glass” (read: not Gorilla Glass) cover. . A MicroSD card slot, stereo speakers, a front and rear camera, a USB-C connector with data transfer,15 W charging, and a headphone jack are all found on the device back. The device lacks a fingerprint sensor. For an undisclosed sum, Nokia is selling a kickstand folio case. The gadget ships with Android 11 and is covered by a two-year warranty on major OS updates and a three-year warranty on security updates.

The 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front is accompanied by OZO audio-tuned stereo speakers for a superior audio experience. The rear camera is rated at 8 megapixels and comes with an LED flash if you wish to capture “normal” images or videos. There’s also a 3.5mm input for wired audio, as well as an FM tuner that requires a headset to use. The tablet will come preloaded with Nokia’s light Android 11 build, with two years of OS updates and three years of monthly security fixes guaranteed. Given how quickly most $250 tablets are forgotten about after launch, that’s impressive. If you want a tablet to keep smaller children occupied with a specific section with only pre-screened apps and games, Google’s “Kids Space” is also pre-installed.
