All We Know About The Brand New OnePlus 10

All We Know About the OnePlus 10

Now that the OnePlus 9T has been verified as non-existent, the OnePlus 10 is the next major smartphone we’re anticipating from the Chinese tech giant. It will, in fact, premiere in January 2022.

The Samsung Galaxy S22, Xiaomi 12, and Oppo Find X4 are projected to be close competitors and contemporaries of this future premium smartphone.

We haven’t heard much about the OnePlus 10 yet – there have been a few leaks, which we’ll detail below – but we expect speculations to ramp-up shortly, especially in the new year as the phone approaches its launch.

Release Date & Expected Price

According to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, the OnePlus 10 Pro will be released in January 2022. “10 Pro, meet you in January,” Lau posted on the Chinese social networking site Weibo, revealing the news.

Because we don’t know much more, it’s unclear whether this will be a China-only debut. According to previous speculations, the OnePlus 10 series would launch in China first, with the rest of the globe following later. Furthermore, if the China-only launch happens first, rumors say we’ll be able to buy this phone in the United States or the United Kingdom in March or April 2022. Because OnePlus does not sell its phones in Australia, don’t expect to see the OnePlus 10 there.

While, the OnePlus 9 series started at $729 / £629 (approximately AU$940) for the lowest-spec basic model and went up to $1,069 / £929 (about AU$1,400) for the top-spec Pro model, so anticipate a pricing range for the phones between those figures.

Design & Display

One source claims that the OnePlus 10 and 10 Pro will have a design that is quite similar to the 9-series counterparts, with a few tweaks here and there. It’s no surprise that OnePlus phones don’t have the most innovative designs in the world.

According to web leaks, the render is based on a photo of the phone, and the specs include a 6.7-inch 1440 x 3216 screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio, as well as a 6.7-inch 1440 x 3216 screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Since then, we’ve seen a more complete leak of the OnePlus 10 Pro, which shows the phone from every angle. The phone’s measurements are 163.0 x 73.8 x 8.5mm, according to the same source (or 10.3mm including the camera bump).

Camera & Battery

The basic OnePlus 10’s camera is unknown, but a leaker believes the OnePlus 10 pro will sport a triple-lens camera with a 48MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, and an 8MP telephoto sensor with 3.3x optical zoom. Those are, by the way, the same specifications as the OnePlus 9 Pro.

These camera leaks have been confirmed, with one leaker giving the specifications and noting that the phone would feature 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. However, we’ve heard different information on the subject.

The front-facing camera on the OnePlus 10 Pro is expected to be 32MP, which would be a significant boost above the 16MP camera on the OnePlus 9 Pro. Furthermore, we don’t know what the battery capacity of the OnePlus 10 will be, but one source suggests the OnePlus 10 Pro will feature a 5,000mAh battery, while another claims it will enable 125W charging.

Further Specifications

First and foremost, OnePlus has confirmed the existence of a function. Following the merging of the firms, the company has stated that the 10-series phones would launch brand-new software that will blend the company’s own Android fork, OxygenOS, with that of its brother, Oppo’s ColorOS.

The new software will combine “the quick and seamless, burdenless experience of OxygenOS, and the reliability and extensive functionality of ColorOS,” according to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau. The brand new software will aid in carrying out complex functions such as SMS backup and sharing without any complications.

The OnePlus 10 will also employ the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, according to the manufacturer. This is the successor to the Snapdragon 888, and it will likely power many of the year’s top Android phones.

According to another report, the OnePlus 10 Pro will offer 8GB or 12GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, and IP68 water and dust resistant rating. We haven’t heard any speculations about the regular OnePlus 10’s specifications yet.

This is all we know for you. We will keep you updated as new details surface.
